Fasting and Praying are a Must, but are they Enough...?

If we will deny the belly in favor of the spirit, we will find ourselves compromising less while walking in even greater power, victory and discernment over the spiritual wickeness in high places every Christian contends with whether they will acknowledge it or not.

But is fasting and praying on a regular basis enough to keep us out of compromise and serious spiritual error ?

No, it is not. We cannot neglect to also include a hearty portion of the Word of God in our lives on a daily basis. Then,  we must carefully heed the words of Jesus and be doers of the word and not hearers only, or we could be headed for big trouble (see link on right to "The Basics").

We would do well to remember the example of Mahatma Ghandi. Ghandi was famous for his frequent and highly publicized fastings and prayers. But in rejecting the Word of God to give him direction, and in rejecting the risen son of God, Jesus Christ, as the only way, the only truth and the only life... like every good Hindu ... he also drank a daily dose of his own urine!
