I'm sorry about the delay in getting back with you on the Calvinism thing.
I think a lot of problems could be avoided if we would simply refuse to use terms like "Calvinism" etc.
while discussing Biblical doctrine, when the question really should be, "what is really meant when the scriptures use
words like "predestined?"
Romans 8:29 is the first and last word on the subject as far as I'm concerned, "For whom he did foreknow, he did
predestinate...."
This verse is clear that predestination is based entirely on the foreknowledge of God who always knows
the end from the beginning.
All of the other scriptures that refer to predestination and election must be understood in light of what Romans
8:29--that's called "rightly dividing the Word...."
